On an iPhone open Settings and tap your name and then Subscriptions. Pick the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription, and if a red expiry message shows instead it is already cancelled.

This is for anyone paying Apple for a subscription they no longer want, whether it is an app, an Apple service or iCloud storage. The steps are Apple's own, from its support pages as they read on 19 September 2026, with the exceptions that catch people out.
Apple's page adds the check: “If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled.” That red message is also your proof, so take a screenshot of it.
Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click your name again on the page that appears, then Subscriptions, the subscription, and Cancel Subscription.
Windows: use the Apple Music or Apple TV app. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose View My Account, scroll to Settings, click Manage next to Subscriptions, then Edit next to the subscription and Cancel Subscription.
Any browser: Apple links straight to the subscriptions page of your account at account.apple.com.
Android: if Apple Music or Apple TV was bought through Google Play, cancel it in the Google Play app; if Apple bills you, use account.apple.com.
iCloud+ is cancelled or made smaller from the same Subscriptions list on an iPhone with a recent iOS (tap iCloud+ under Active, then Cancel Subscription, or See All Plans to move to a smaller one). On a Mac it is under System Settings, Apple Account, iCloud, then Manage Plan.
Apple says the change “takes effect after your current subscription billing period ends.” Before you go smaller, move or delete whatever does not fit in the new amount, because once you are over it “iCloud won't sync or update your information, and iCloud backups won't complete.”
One case worth checking: if you pay for Apple One as well as iCloud+, Apple says you can cancel the iCloud+ plan and use the storage that comes with Apple One.
A family member's subscription. If you organise an Apple Family Sharing group, your card pays for the others' subscriptions, but in Apple's words “You can't cancel a family member's subscription.” The person whose Apple Account is on the receipt has to do it on their own device.
It is not in the list at all. Apple suggests searching your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple”. If there is none, the subscription may have been bought from another company, and your bank statement says which. If it came with your phone contract or another provider, cancel it with them.
A free trial. Cancel “at least 24 hours before the trial ends”, and note that a trial you cancel cannot be restarted.
A monthly plan with a 12-month commitment. Apple now offers these outside the United States and Singapore. Cancelling one early does not stop the payments: “You'll continue to be billed for remaining payments until your commitment is fulfilled.”
Apple takes refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com: choose I'd like to, then Request a refund, give a reason and pick the item. Apple says to expect an update within 24 to 48 hours, and that a charge still pending cannot be refunded yet. A family organiser can request refunds for other members' purchases even though they cannot cancel them.
