The terms for the apps, this website, and the licence you can choose to pay for.
Mind My Money is made by Augmented Mind AB (PB 13, 00561 Helsinki, Finland). These terms cover this website (https://mindmy.money), the Mind My Money app for Mac, the Windows app, the iPhone app, and the optional licence. We call all of that "the Service".
These terms apply once you accept them, and accepting takes a deliberate act: confirming in the app when it asks you to, before it first works on your computer as you, or creating an account on this website. The app does not start working as you until you have accepted.
You need to be 18 or older to use the Service.
Mind My Money goes through your own spending. You sign in to your bank in a browser on your own computer; it downloads the transactions the bank lets you export, works out what each payment was for, writes a report for every month, quarter and year, and lists what you pay for regularly. It lists the bills you have to pay before they fall due, and reads what you own (your accounts, funds, shares, loans and pension), each figure with the date it was read. When you say a subscription or contract should go, it can cancel it for you on the company's own website, and as an experimental feature it can pay a bill for you in your bank.
It runs on your own computer and keeps everything as plain files in a Mind My Money folder in your home folder. We do not host your finances.
To run it you need:
The iPhone app shows your reports and questions from the Mac, through your own iCloud, and lets you answer them. It does nothing on its own.
The Service works with your own access. To do what you ask, it reads and writes files in its folder, runs commands on your computer under your user account, and uses a web browser signed in as you. It is told to work on your money and nothing else, but what it is able to reach is wider than that instruction, and you should understand it that way before you use it. If you allow it in your system settings, it can also read your photos, your messages or your calendar to work out a payment; on Windows it looks beyond your statements only in your email. If you sign it in to a digital mailbox (OmaPosti, Suomi.fi, Kivra or Min myndighetspost), it reads the bills there.
It reads things other people wrote — web pages, documents, email. Any of those can contain instructions aimed at the software rather than at you, and the software may act on them. Nobody has solved that. We take steps to reduce it, we do not claim to have fixed it, and you should not rely on it being fixed.
What you control is how far it reaches. You can sign it into as few accounts as you like, or none, and download your statements yourself instead; it does the rest from what you give it.
You sign in to your bank yourself. The app opens the bank's page and waits; it never asks for, stores or types a bank password.
Mind My Money uses AI to work for you, and AI makes mistakes. It can misread a statement, put a payment in the wrong place, misjudge what a page says, or act on the wrong thing.
Everything the Service does on your behalf, every action it takes under your accounts, is your responsibility, whether or not you checked it first, and you use the Service at your own risk.
The app is designed to ask you before it changes anything outside your computer, such as cancelling a subscription, switching a plan, making a claim or paying a bill, and to look at the source afterwards: the company's own page, or for a bill your bank's list of scheduled payments. Those are features to help you, not promises: read what it shows you, and check the result yourself wherever it matters.
Paying a bill is an experimental feature, and it is the only thing the app does that moves your money. Use it only if you accept that it can go wrong.
The app is designed to ask first whether you want your bills only listed or also offered for paying, and to show each bill on its own question before paying it: who it is to, the account, the amount, the reference, the due date, and the checks it made. These are aids, not guarantees. AI makes mistakes: it can misread a bill, use the wrong account, amount or date, or pay something you did not mean to pay.
The payment is made in your bank, signed in as you, and the bank's own record is what counts. Your bank may also ask you to confirm the payment in its own app.
Every payment the app makes for you, and what follows from it, is your responsibility: a wrong payee or amount, a payment made twice, a late or missed payment and its fees, or a payment you later want back. Check your bank's record yourself. Once your bank has made a payment it is between you, your bank and the payee, and we cannot reverse it.
Mind My Money shows you where your money went and what it costs, and stops there. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it never tells you what to do with your money. Where it helps you cancel or switch something, it supports a decision you make; it is not an expert in energy contracts, insurance, tax or anything else the decision is about. For those, ask someone who is.
It also reads what you own: your accounts, funds, shares, loans and pension, and what they cost you. It never buys, sells or moves an investment, and it never says whether you should. When you ask about something you hold (what a fund contains, whether two of your funds overlap, what a fund cost you last year, what your loan payment does at its next reset), the answer is arithmetic about what you already hold, with the data it used and the date of that data. It is not a recommendation, and it does not compare what you hold with anything else. That data comes from the fund's own publisher or a fund-data site; it can be out of date or wrong, and it covers only what they publish.
You can share a report with a coach, a partner or anyone else, and you send it yourself, from your own email. The app prepares the message with the report attached and nothing else from your records, and you decide whether to send it. It does not pass through us, and we never see it. What the person you send it to does with it is between you and them.
If you share a period's figures with someone you live with, only the group totals are shared, through your own iCloud account to theirs, not through us. This is available on a Mac.
The coaches listed on this website are independent of us. We do not employ them, and we are not responsible for what they advise.
The apps are free, and the free version is not a trial or a cut-down edition: it is the whole app, every month, for as long as you like. The optional licence lets you choose what you pay each month, from the smallest amount on the slider upwards. What it buys is Mind My Money continuing to exist; some amounts also come with extras, listed beside the slider on our home page.
The extras that come with your amount are fixed when you choose it. If we later publish different amounts, yours does not change. We do not sell AI usage, and if we ever do, we will update these terms first.
You have 14 days. Under EU consumer law you can withdraw from the licence within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Tell us in a clear statement — an email to [email protected] saying so is enough — and we will refund you within 14 days, by the same payment method.
The licence starts as soon as you buy it, because you ask for it to. If you then withdraw, we refund what you paid apart from a proportionate amount for the days you already had.
Beyond that, if Mind My Money does not do what this site says it does, write to us.
Use the Service lawfully, and only on accounts that are yours or that you are allowed to act for. Do not try to break into our systems, disrupt them, or resell access to the Service.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Where that affects a licence you have paid for, we will refund the part you have not used. If we suspend an account we will tell you why, unless the law stops us.
The Service is provided as it is, and parts of it are early: the Windows app is a beta. We do not promise that it will run without interruption or error, that it will find every payment or bill or work out every one correctly, that a bill will be paid on time, or that a cancellation, switch or payment will succeed, and we may change or withdraw features.
So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or savings, for a figure in a report that turns out to be wrong or incomplete, for a decision you take on the strength of one, for any action the Service takes on your behalf (including one you asked for or approved), or for anything done through an account you signed the Service into.
Nothing here removes liability that cannot be removed by law, and nothing here limits your rights as a consumer.
Your financial records stay on your own computer: your statements and reports, your bills, what you own, your debts and your pension. Augmented Mind AB does not run a cloud that holds them and keeps no copy. The iPhone app gets them through your own iCloud. What we do handle — your account and billing details, and the email we send you — is set out in our privacy policy, and the companies involved are listed on our sub-processors page.
The software, and the Mind My Money name and logo as we use them, are ours. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service. Everything you put into it, and everything it produces from your records, stays yours.
We may change these terms, for instance when the product changes or the law does. The date at the top of this page always shows when they last changed.
If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you before it takes effect. If you do not want to accept it, you can stop; we will refund the part of any licence you have paid for and not used. We will not treat carrying on using the Service as your agreement to a material change.
These terms are governed by Finnish law. That does not take away the protection of the law where you live, and you can bring a claim in your own country's courts.
If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Write to us at [email protected].
